Yoga That Starts With You

Four weeks of private yoga, built entirely around you - where you are now, what you'd like to learn, and what would help you feel more confident on the mat.

1:1 or 2:1 personalised yoga in and around West Berkshire · By arrangement

A Different Way to Begin

You Don't Need to Know What You're Doing Before You Start

If you've never done yoga before, walking into a group class for the first time can sometimes feel like everyone else has been given a handbook that you somehow missed.

What does "take a vinyasa" even mean? Where are you supposed to put your hands? What if you can't touch your toes or sitting cross-legged is uncomfortable? And how are you meant to know when (or how) to change a pose, use a block, or simply stop?

That is exactly why I created this programme. We can slow everything down, you can ask as many questions as you like, we can try things a few different ways and work out what actually feels right for you, without worrying about keeping up with anyone else.

A calm personalised yoga session with individual guidance

Is This For Me?

You Don't Need to Fit Yoga. Yoga Can Fit You.

Personalised Yoga might be a good place to start if you'd like a little more time, support or individual attention than a group class can offer. It's especially suited to complete beginners, people who are new to yoga, or anyone who's curious about yoga but would feel more comfortable learning the basics at their own pace first.

It can also work really well if you want to understand your practice a little better, have questions you've never really had the chance to ask, or simply feel more comfortable learning somewhere quieter and more personal.

Completely New to Yoga

You've never done yoga before and would rather learn the basics somewhere quiet before walking into a group class.

Know What's Going On

You'd like to understand what actually happens in a yoga class - the poses, the words, the transitions, and what your options are when something doesn't feel right.

More Time & Space

You’d simply like more time to ask questions, explore different options and understand your own practice without feeling rushed.

This can also be a lovely way to come back to yoga after some time away, especially if you feel as though you've forgotten everything. (You probably haven't.) Or perhaps you already practise and simply want a little more time to explore things in more depth.

How It Works

Four Weeks. Built Around You.

There is no standard programme or syllabus sitting in a drawer somewhere. Your four weeks will depend on you - what you already know, what feels difficult at the moment, what you are curious about and where you would like to feel more confident.

Tell Me a Little About You

Start by completing the short enquiry form below. You don't need to know exactly what you need yet.

Just tell me what has brought you here and what you'd like some help with, and we will figure the rest out together.

Initial Consultation

We’ll have a relaxed 20–30 minute phone or online chat about your experience, goals and confidence, and you can ask as many questions as you like.

There is no charge for this initial conversation and no obligation to book the programme afterwards. We’ll simply talk about what you’re hoping for and see whether this feels like the right fit for you.

Your Four Sessions

From there, I'll plan four private sessions around what we've talked about and what you'd like to get from them.

There's no fixed syllabus and no expectation that everybody needs to learn the same things.

Take It With You

The aim is for you to understand your own practice better, have a clearer idea of what works for you, and feel more comfortable making choices for your body.

Whether you continue at home, join a group class, or decide you'd like more private sessions, you'll have a much clearer sense of what feels right for you.

Your Programme

What Could We Work On?

It really depends on you. For one person, we might spend a lot of time getting comfortable with the basic poses. Someone else might want to understand transitions, breathing, how to use props, the language they keep hearing in class, or maybe even explore some yoga philosophy.

Depending on what you're interested in, we might explore things like:

  • Familiar yoga poses and different ways of approaching them
  • How and when to use blocks, straps and other props
  • Breathing and how breath supports your practice without feeling like you’re somehow 'doing breathing wrong'
  • Balance, mobility, strength and relaxation
  • What happens in a typical yoga class
  • Common yoga words and phrases - including what “take a vinyasa” means
  • How to decide when to stay, change a pose or rest
  • Yoga history or philosophy you are curious about
  • Ideas for practising between sessions or at home

Choose What Feels Right

Your Personalised Yoga Programme

Choose to learn on your own or with someone you'd feel comfortable learning with. Both options include personalised planning and four 60-minute sessions, either in person or online.

We'll start with a relaxed 20–30 minute initial consultation so we can talk about what you're hoping for and whether the programme feels right for you. There's no charge for this conversation and no obligation to book afterwards.

Not sure whether 1:1 or 2:1 would suit you best? That's absolutely fine. We can talk it through during your initial consultation, with no obligation to book afterwards.

The Goal

This Isn't About Becoming “Good at Yoga”

By the end of the four weeks, I'm not hoping you'll suddenly be able to do every yoga pose. That isn't the point.

What I do hope is that you understand your own practice a little better - that you know what your options are, you're more comfortable asking questions, and you feel able to make yoga work for the body you're in today.

“I can do yoga in a way that meets my body where it is.”

“I feel comfortable walking into a yoga class because I know what's going on, and what my options are.”

Other Ways to Practise

Looking for Something a Little Different?

You can also join one of my weekly adult yoga classes, or book flexible private yoga sessions without committing to the four-week programme.

Start With a Conversation

Tell Me a Little About You

You don't need to arrive with a perfectly formed goal or know exactly what you want to work on. Tell me a little about what has brought you here and we'll start with a chat.

There's no obligation to book after the initial consultation. If it feels like the right fit, we can take it from there.

You don't need to give me your full health or injury history here. We can talk through anything relevant privately during your consultation.

Enquiring doesn't commit you to anything. We'll have a chat, see whether it feels right, and take it from there.
