“Yoga creates children who are bright lights in the world, increasing their self-awareness and strengthening their bodies.”

- Shakta Khalsa

What is children's yoga?

Playful, Creative and Completely Non-Competitive

Children's yoga is very different from adult yoga. Through stories, adventures, games and imaginative movement, children explore yoga poses, breathing techniques and mindfulness in a way that feels natural, engaging and fun.

In today's fast-paced world, children are often surrounded by constant stimulation. Yoga offers an opportunity to slow down, breathe, focus and reconnect with themselves.

Through regular practice, children can develop greater body awareness, emotional resilience, confidence and self-regulation while learning valuable tools they can use both on and off the mat.

Classes are playful, creative and completely non-competitive. Children do not need any previous yoga experience, to be flexible or to be especially good at sitting still. They are encouraged to use their imaginations, express themselves freely and take part in a way that feels comfortable, safe and fun.

Why Children's Yoga Matters

Yoga helps children learn to stop, soothe and calm the senses, supporting focus, balance and confidence. By connecting movement, breath and awareness, children are gently encouraged to become more in tune with themselves, others and the world around them.

Meet the Mascot

Meet Gerry the Giraffe

Official Chief Wobble Officer at Bendy Bodies

Gerry loves yoga... but he doesn't always get it right the first time.

Sometimes he wobbles.
Sometimes he falls over.
Sometimes he gets tangled in his own long legs!

But Gerry knows that the best part of yoga isn't being perfect - it's being curious enough to keep trying.
That's why he's the perfect friend to have beside you on your yoga adventures.

Every pose, every breath and every wobble is a chance to discover just how amazing your body can be.

And if Gerry can keep trying after a wobble, so can we.

“I don't mind wobbling... that's how I know I'm learning!”

- Gerry

What happens in class?

Each Class is a Mini Adventure

Bendy Bodies children's yoga classes are fun adventures combining movement, imagination, breathing, mindfulness and relaxation.

Every class is different, but children can expect stories, games, movement, breathing activities and opportunities to explore their creativity.

Classes are designed for children aged 3–11 and typically last between 30 and 45 minutes, depending on the age group and venue.

“Like reading, yoga allows us to go on a magical journey using our imaginations.”

- Betty Larrea
