About Bendy Bodies

A Calm, Steady Approach to Yoga & Mindfulness

A gentle, non-competitive space to move, breathe and reconnect, through classes that feel calm, supportive and human.

Based in West Berkshire, with classes in Newbury and Mortimer

The Bendy Bodies Approach

At Bendy Bodies, yoga is not about how flexible you are, how strong you look, or how perfectly you move.

It is about how you feel.

It is a space to slow down.

To breathe.

To come back to yourself.

My classes are intentionally small and gently guided, creating an environment that feels safe, supportive and unhurried.

There is no competition - not with others, and not with yourself. Only space to explore, to soften, and to build strength and confidence in your own time.

There is no pressure to perform. You don’t need to get it “right”. We move, we wobble, we learn - and sometimes we even laugh along the way.

For children, classes are playful, imaginative and nurturing, using stories, movement and mindfulness to support emotional and physical development in a way that feels natural and enjoyable.

Bendy Bodies Yoga & Mindfulness is not affiliated with any religion or religious teachings.

How It Feels

People often describe my classes as:

And while I hope they offer all of those things, more than anything… I want you to leave feeling just a little lighter than when you arrived.

“My hope is for every person, adult or child, to leave my classes feeling lighter, as though the sun is shining brighter.”

Meet Candice

Hi, I’m Candice.

Like many people, my journey with yoga started as a physical practice, but it very quickly became something more - a place to slow down, to breathe, and to feel more like myself.

I still remember leaving a class one morning and feeling lighter - as though everything around me had softened, the sun was shining a little brighter, and the day ahead felt more possible.

That feeling stayed with me, and it’s what I now hope to offer others.

My Journey

My professional journey began in the corporate world, where I spent many years working in recruitment and talent acquisition. I’ve always loved working with people and supporting growth, but there was always a quiet pull towards something more meaningful and grounded.

Working with children had always been part of who I am. From a young age, I was “teaching” my dolls and teddies, and later spending time helping at my mum’s playschool. Supporting children as they learn, grow and explore the world has always felt natural to me.

In 2019, I followed that pull and completed my children’s yoga teacher training, starting Bendy Bodies in South Africa as a space for children to move, breathe and express themselves freely.

As my own practice deepened, I went on to complete my 200-hour yoga teacher training and began offering adult classes too - bringing the same sense of care, calm and connection into a different space.

A Pause - And a Return

After moving to the UK, I stepped away from teaching and returned to corporate life to support my family through that transition.

Then, following two strokes, everything slowed down.

It gave me space to reflect, to reconnect with myself, and to come back to what truly matters.

Bendy Bodies is now being rebuilt here in the UK - not as a relaunch or a reinvention, but as a quiet, intentional return to something I love.

How I Teach

My teaching is shaped by everything I’ve experienced - both in yoga and in life.

It is calm, kind and grounded, with space to move gently, build confidence over time, and feel more at ease in your body.

Gentle, but not passive.

Supportive, but not limiting.

Grounding, but quietly strengthening.

There is no pressure to perform here. We embrace the wobbles, smile when we need to, and sometimes even laugh along the way.

You can move at your own pace, without pressure or expectation.

Rest is always welcome, and never something you need to earn.

Wobbles are part of the practice - we meet them with kindness, not criticism.

There is space for smiles, lightness and even a quiet laugh along the way.

Because yoga is not about pushing - it’s about listening.
